The Sunday Paper: 10 Years In Fashion

It’s quite a milestone to reach 10 years as a company here in Los Angeles. The fashion industry is quite a tough industry to break into, and I have seen many brands come and go over the years. So it is definitely a good time to reflect on how far we’ve come before looking to the future and how far we want to go in the next 10 years. The journey has had a few bumps on the way, but what worth doing doesn’t have its fair share of ups and downs? I think it’s how you handle those that steels you more and more to succeed the next time around. The funny thing is I still feel like we have only just begun, and we have a ways to go to where I want it to be. But we are on the way.

When I first moved over to LA from Sydney, I came with two suitcases and a dream. I moved in with my now wife Jenny, and 3 months later we got married and the rest is history. She now runs the company, and we have also been married for over 10 years and have 2 kids together.

There have been a lot of great moments over the years, and those milestones push you harder for the next one. To note a few of my favorite moments: I’d have to say the first big moment was our collaboration with Tyga and launching that with Revolve Clothing.

Another would be opening our NY store in Soho. Although closed now, this was a big moment for me and the brand. It is definitely something I would like to do again for sure, especially after visiting the city just recently and seeing how much life is back in the city was inspiring.

Another big moment was doing a presentation at NY Fashion Week. I was scared, nervous and worried, but after I thought to myself there was nothing to worry about.

I also can’t forget the love and care and detail that went into our Melrose store, and the opening of this was a real statement of what the brand is about moving forward.

Our collaboration with adidas and James Harden and the launch of that project at the NBA All Star Weekend in Chicago was also another huge moment for us. And to have a pair of James Harden adidas Vol. 4 sneakers designed by me worn on the court was a big moment to say the least. Just a kid from Australia who dreamt during the Michael Jordan era of going to Chicago and going to the United Center, and here I was with shoes on the court in an All Star game.

So to the future we go and where it will take us, one can only speculate. But with a clear vision of where we wanna go and working towards that, there is no limit to what we could achieve. A few things I would love to do over the next few years would be open a store in NYC again and also expand the product range and make new and even better products.

So here’s to ten years and to the next ten years. We wouldn’t be here without the help and support of our staff, friends, vendors, customers, athletes, celebrities and our families, so to that I thank you for your support and look forward to growing together even more in the coming years.
